Why You Should Always Book Flights in the Opposite Season

Most travelers don’t think about summer travel until the summer, or holiday travel until the holidays… Which is understandable!

However, summer is the most expensive time to book summer flights, and November/December is the toughest time to find cheap flights in general.

If you’re wanting the cheapest flights, the best strategy is to book during the opposite season.

Often, my friends will ask me to find them a cheap flight about a month out from their travel date. I do my best, but this is the worst strategy!

Much like how summer clothes are cheaper in the winter, and vice versa, so too are flights.

There are also some benefits to booking further out. Upon first inspection, you might expect the vacation as the only part you enjoy; however, it turns out we get as much if not more joy before the trip! Planning, daydreaming, and anticipation is a major aspect of excitement and joy surrounding traveling.

Research shows that a trip becomes real in our minds the moment we book flights. Since it is almost summer right now, I’m sure there aren’t many people thinking about traveling this winter. But if you want cheap flights, that’s what you should be doing.
