Walt Disney World App Tips

The Walt Disney World app is a one-stop-shop for your next Disney Trip. I’m going to share below what all you can do from your app to help make your trip more seamless, efficient, and magical!

Link Tickets

My number one tip if you’re traveling with a group is to link your parties’s tickets. I was able to link my sisters’ and my dad’s tickets to my account. Once they were linked, I was able to make reservations (for rides, parks, dinner, etc.) for everyone or a a few through the app.

This worked wonderfully for Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes when it came down to the seconds to book something. Having everyone linked together made it so much easier.

Check Wait Times

I love using the app to check wait times for rides. We visited all four parks in one day… So having an idea of the wait times for rides at each parks was super helpful to maximize our time.

When you tap on a ride, you’re also able to see if you can utilize Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane.

It also shows the park hours, any additional magic hours, park hopper availability, and shows, parades, and fireworks times.

Genie+ / Individual Lightning Lanes / Virtual Queue

Genie+ is different from Individual Lightning Lanes - but that will be another post. You utilize the app to book Genie+ rides (like the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster), or check Individual Lightning Lanes for rides like Avatar’s Flight of Passage.

Shopping

Did you know you can pay for items in-store through your app? If there’s a long line to check out, you can go to the app, select the store you’re shopping in, scan the barcode of the item you want, and then pay through the app! Be sure to share the QR code with a cast member before you leave the store though :)

Food!

The app is great when traveling with a group because you can also mobile order food at quick stop/counter service locations or make reservations at sit-down restaurants. We used this app a few weeks out to make our dinner reservations for our first two nights.

See Your Ride Photos

You can link your app to the Memory Makers - so any ride you go on, it’ll automatically update in your app if you’d like to purchase that photo!

Overall, the app is very user-friendly but there is a TON to find out on it. Take some time prior to your next trip to familiarize yourself with the app so you aren’t stressed during your trip!
