Ritz Paris Review
Ritz Paris is one of, if not the most, iconic hotels in the world. It has always been a dream of mine to stay there and I found myself turning 30 and being able to save enough to spend one night there.
Disclaimer: I know this is so far outside the realm of possibility for some and I always thought that for myself, too. I was able to pay for this in cash, and I wanted to do so, so I did! I really tried to come across in a way that is not boastful, but truly so thankful and excited to have been able to stay here.
Location
Located in Place Vendome, the hotel is in the iconic square surrounded by designer stores and ateliers. It is in the 2nd arrondissement within walking distance of the Louvre, the Tuileries, Palais Garnier, Galeries Lafayette, and world-renowned shopping.
Price
Their pricing is on their website, but I booked through a travel advisor and got a discount + perks! I paid $2100 for the lowest-tiered room. I’ll explain below what all was included. I will say, if you can afford it, it is worth every single penny.
Travel Advisor
I was curious if a travel advisor could offer some perks or a discount of any kind, and to my surprise I got both! The travel advisor was able to get me $300 off my night, plus included:
transfer to and from the hotel (so for us this was from our original hotel in Paris in St. Germain and to Charles de Gaulle airport the next day) in a NICE BMW Series 7.
breakfast included for both Neal and I
guaranteed room upgrade - initially we were upgraded to a Grand Deluxe Room, but upon arrival we were upgraded 6 levels to an Executive Suite.
Check-in on arrival (any time) and check-out whenever we wanted!
I had never worked with a travel advisor previously since I love to plan my own trips; however, if I plan on staying at a nicer hotel in the future, I absolutely will be utilizing a travel advisor again!
Room
We were upgraded to an Executive Suite upon arrival, which typically runs anywhere from $4000-6000/night.
We had a salon, or living room, with a bottle of champagne, 2 desserts, and a ton of fruit waiting for us - along with a card from the hotel staff. The salon inclued a balcony, a fireplace, a closet, a desk, a mini bar, and a television imbedded into the mirror above the mantle.
The suite also included one half bath in the entry hallway, one full bath that included a water closet (toilet and bidet), a bathtub, a walk-in shower, 2 vanities, and a towel warmer.
The bedroom had a king-size bed, a closet, a balcony, and a fireplace, and a tv imbedded into the mirror like the one in the salon.
One of our balconies :)
Amenities
I cannot rave about this entire hotel enough. I’ve visited the hotel bars before, but have never fully explored it.
Bars
We decided to do a bar crawl at the hotel the night we stayed there. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a concierge and 2 bellman. They took our luggage and we were given a tour. The concierge made us a reservation at the Hemingway Bar for 7:30 and gave us the password to skip the line!
Hemingway Bar
Supposed to be a “more approachable” bar at the Ritz Paris, but it is still expensive lol.
Ritz Bar
A constellation-themed bar with really thought-out cocktails.
Bar Vendome
We finished the bar crawl with a passion fruit margarita and a pastry
Breakfast
When we checked in, the concierge asked what our newspaper preference was. When we woke up the next morning for breakfast, our newspaper we requested was waiting on our door handle for us.
Breakfast at Ritz Paris has 3 options: Japanese, American, Healthy. Neal and I opted for American and Healthy. They start with your coffee or tea order and a basket of pastries.
The Healthy option included:
fruit salad
granola and coconut yogurt
avocado toast
muesli
The American option included:
eggs any style
2 a la carte items (Neal ordered bacon and tomatoes)
yogurt parfait
Spa
We ended our stay with a swim at the Ritz Paris spa. They have a great locker room and gym, along with a sauna free to use for guests. The pool is heated and it also houses a “detox bar” where you can get juices, smoothies, and mocktails.
Shopping
They offer a gorgeous arcade in the hotel with shops for guests and visitors. I visited Bacha to grab some coffee for Neal, who loves coffee. I also visited the Ritz Paris concept store (for anything and everything Ritz Paris branded) and bought Neal a Ritz Paris hat since I already have the sweater :)
They also have Dolce & Gabbana, Tasaki and TWG Tea.
Pros
Literally everything. Every single aspect of this hotel is so thoughtfully and intentionally curated and prepared. It was far and away the most luxurious experience of my life. I don’t think I will ever experience something so beautiful and unreal ever again.
The staff are all so incredibly kind and helpful, the rooms are impeccable, the details are beautiful.
Cons
Wish I were wealthier to stay here more frequently LOL.
