My Favorite Travel Apps

Your phone is so important while traveling. There are so many apps dedicated to making your travel experience less stressful and more efficient.

Here are some of my favorite travel apps:

  • Airline apps

    • I have United, Delta, American Airlines, and Ryanair apps on my phone. Not only can you book and search flights through the airline, the app keeps you up-to-date on your current flight, letting you know of any delays or cancellations, it also has your boarding pass, and you can track your luggage if you checked it.

    • Also, some airplanes don’t have the screen on the back of the seat for entertainment, so these apps now act as your entertainment device by connecting via their app to their entertainment catalogue.

  • TripIt

    • This app is great for having all of your reservations for a trip in one folder. It connects to your email account and pulls reservations sent to your email into this app. Then it compiles them all to create your itinerary.

    • I love that it also allows you to share your itinerary with others so they have all of your flight info, hotel reservation, any excursions, etc.

  • Kindle

    • I no longer have a Kindle device, but I do have the Kindle app. I hate buying from Amazon, and do prefer to buy my books locally. But for right now, I have the Kindle app.

    • I love to read on trips, but hate packing physical books because they’re bulky and also I don’t want to carry a book around all day. With an e-reader app, you can have access to your book(s) via your phone, iPad, laptop, etc.

  • Hilton

    • I am a Hilton girly! I love my Hilton hotels and try to stay there whenever possible. I love this app because you can book and manage your reservation through the app, use your points, communicate with the hotel prior to your reservation, use the app as your room key, and see what perks you get with each level of Hilton Honors.

  • Translate

    • This one is obvious. If you’re going somewhere with a language barrier, be sure to have this app. Not only can you translate in real time, you can also use your camera to translate menus, signs, etc.

  • Flush

    • This one is amazing. If you’re traveling to Europe, public restrooms are hard to find. This app shows you all of the restrooms near you! As someone who constantly has to use the restroom, this app is a must-have!
