French Pharmacy Skincare

If you’re traveling to Paris and you’re doing any kind of research, odds are you’ll come across an article or a post saying, “YOU HAVE TO BUY FRENCH SKINCARE!”

I’m not necessarily a Francophile, but I did my research just in case. Wow oh wow, I was proven quite wrong! The items I got are amazing and I love them.

I had quite a few items on my list, which I’ll share below. I didn’t buy everything on the list, but the few items I did get have fully convinced me to go all-in next time I visit France.

The items I kept seeing online were:

  • Caudalie detox mask

  • Caudalie Beauty Elixir

  • La Cabine hyaluronic acid ampules

  • Dermaceutic retinol or A313

  • Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet

  • Caudalie Lip Moisturizing

  • La Roche Posay antihelios

  • Avene moisture mask

  • Klorane sun restorative conditioner

I ended up buying:

  • Caudalie Vinergetic C+ 3-in-1 Vitamin C Energy Moisturizer - LOVE this. It’s hard for me to find moisturizers that don’t clog my skin, but I get so dry in the winter! This not only keeps my skin clear, it also brightens and evens my skintone, while also protecting against air pollution.

    • It was $24 in Paris, and $42 at Sephora

  • Caudalie Beauty Elixir - Not only does this tighten pores, it also is a great setting spray for your makeup and also makes your skin look and smell so nice! It smells like peppermint and rosemary :)

    • It was $12 in Paris, and runs anywhere from $20-$49 at Sephora.

  • Caudalie Instant Detox Mask - I love how quickly this works! Not only does it remove excess oil and sebum, it also reduces the redness and size of active zits. You let it soak into your skin for only 5-10 minutes and then you rinse off! I also love how it doesn’t leave your skin completely dry afterwards.

    • It was $24 in Paris, and $42 at Sephora

  • La Roche Posay antihelios - I’ve been an Elta Md sunscreen stan for yeeeears. I think I have converted to antihelios. Elta Md makes my skin look greasy, but antihelios doesn’t. It runs a little more watery than sunscreen I’ve used before, but I like it? It doesn’t leave a white cast and absorbs easily.

    • It was $10 in Paris, and runs for $35 at Target, Dermstore, Ulta, and other retailers.

You can find any of these products at literally any pharmacy in Paris or Europe. The pharmacy can be found on most street corners with a green cross emblem usually in neon lights - so it’s hard to miss.

Do some research, also talk to your dermatologist or esthetician if you’d like. I’ve really enjoyed the products I’ve gotten :)
