2023 Travel Essentials

My 2023 is shaping up to be a year of travel! I’ve already been traveling quite a lot domestically with visits to Nashville, Chattanooga, New Orleans, and Miami. I’m also looking at a week in Florida, a long weekend in Costa Rica, 10 days in France, and the holidays in Colombia later this year. In my travels so far this year, here are the things I cannot travel without!

Beis Backpack

This backpack is my ultimate travel essential now. When traveling, I usually fit the following in this wonder bag:

  • Packing cube or 2 of clothing

  • iPad

  • Laptop

  • Chargers for all electronics

  • Pharmacy bag

  • Makeup Bag and Makeup Brushes

  • Water Bottle

  • Liquids container

  • Toothbrush/Toothpaste/Retainer

  • Jewelry Pack

  • Snacks

  • One pair of shoes

I love this bag. I’ve used this bag to pack all of my items for a weekend trip or as my personal item and I love it.

It is $88 and comes in Beige and Black - I have black and it’s great. I’ve thrown it in my washing machine before, too, and it washes really well.

Pouches

Oh man, I had an Ipsy subscription years and years ago and I still use their pouches for everything. I use these for my chargers, my non-essential essentials (bandaids, Benadryl stick, non-daily medications), travel soap/toilet paper (discussing later in this post), etc. The opportunities are endless! You can buy pouches on Amazon, Beis, or get an Ipsy subscription for 6 months and get a ton of pouches and travel size makeup!

Ouai Detox Shampoo

When I went to Miami, I didn’t pack any hair items because I didn’t think I’d need any for a weekend trip (one of the benefits of having curly hair). However, I did decide to wash my hair after the flight because I got anxious about how dirty the flight was lol.

Thankfully our hotel was next to an Ulta and I decided to try the Ouai Detox Shampoo to help get rid of some buildup. Wowweeeee it was amazing!

If you need a quick boost of detox to your scalp, this shampoo is it! I will say that the travel size is not a good shape to travel with, as it is pretty bulky - but it is a great shampoo for traveling.

Travel Toilet Paper

This one sounds a little funny, but I am now obsessed with this. I bought a pack of travel toilet paper when we were planning to go to Egypt, because I was worried about car trips and not having a bathroom along the roadside in the desert ;)

Little did I know how helpful these would be! The exact brand I bought is unavailable on Amazon, but this one is similar. It comes in a small plastic case, just a big larger than a roll of coins, and I now keep it in my purse.

I know I’ve experienced many times not having toilet paper at a restroom, or having to pay for toilet paper… Or even just needing a tissue! I love these.

Aquaphor Lip Balm

Hot girls love Aquaphor lol and this girly here LOVES the Aquaphor lip balm. Just do yourself a favor and get this and try it. You’ll love it.

Not New Essentials

Portable Charger - I don’t have this exact one, but I plan on buying it soon! The Clutch Charger is super thin and is fast-charging. I am now traveling with about 4 portable chargers because my phone seems to always die???

Kindle App - I try not to support Amazon, but when I travel, I want to be able to read without having to carry an actual book. Enter: the Kindle app. Access to all of your Kindle books right on your phone! I also have the app on my iPad so I can read on my iPad while traveling as well.

TSA-Approved Liquids Case - Yall know I love this case, however, if you have a layover in London, THIS BAG WILL NOT WORK. You need a 100mL size plastic bag and you will have to repack all of your toiletries into the 100mL bag instead of this bag. I’ve only experienced this in London, but it was traumatic lol.
