Where We Ate in Paris

There are thousands of restaurants in Paris.. It can be extremely overwhelming to find places to eat that are good, not going to break the bank, and aren’t overrun with tourists.

Here is where we ate and what I recommend:

Siena

Food/Drinks: I got the truffle ravioli and it was one of my favorites of the trip! I got almost exclusively truffle pasta on this trip, so I feel confident in my rankings. This was one of the top truffle pastas. I also got a pornstar martini (passionfruit martini with shot of champagne) and it was delicious. We finished with a chocolate tart for dessert!

Price: The meal ended up being around $120 for both of us, but we got appetizers, huge pasta dishes, dessert, and cocktails.

Vibes: This has recently been a celebrity hot spot! check their instagram @siena.paris to see who all has been there recently, but we didn’t see anyone. The vibes and interior are lovely! Great lighting, beautiful pink and warm yellows/beige. Loved it.

Location: It’s located in the 1st arr. just a few blocks away from the Tuileries Garden. It’s also on a very cute street with multiple restaurants and al fresco dining/drinking.

Overall ranking: 8/10

Alcazar

Food: I got the steak with a peppercorn sauce, fries, and a great salad. I also got a beer and some coca-cola. The steak was so salty and tender!

Price: The steak is 51 euros, and the drinks are also a bit expensive. Though I do feel the steak was worth the price.

Vibes: Alcazar’s interior feels like you’re in a jungle! Lots of plants, natural overhead light, and very trendy.

Location: It’s located in St. Germain on a side street. Great location, and a super cute wine bar across the street I recommend as well!

Overall ranking: 7.2/10

La Suite Girafe

Food: I got the truffle pasta, bread with caviar butter, and an arugula salad. Though I cannot recommend the food here. Only come for cocktails.

Price: The truffle pasta was $45, which was crazy because it was awful.

Vibes: The vibes absolutely make up for the bad food. It’s located right across from the Eiffel Tower. If you can get a seat outside, I would try to get that so you have uninterrupted views of the Eiffel Tower. It is unreal.

Location: Located on the top floor of the Architecture and Cultural Center on Trocadero Square, it is in the hub of everything.

Overall Ranking: food - 3/10, everything else - 9/10

Le Baguette du Relais

Food: If you’re on social media, you’ve heard of the bottomless steak and frites with the to-die-for sauce… This spot is its little brother… in a baguette. The steak is cut in tender slices, smothered in sauce, and stuffed in a baguette with fries. You tell them how cooked you want your steak, and then 10 minutes later, you have your delicious sandwich.

Price: It was $14 for the baguette + $2 for the coca-cola.

Vibes: Not much vibes to go off of here :) There is no seating inside, so we sat outside on the curb and ate our sandwich.

Location: Located in the Marais near lots of shops!

Overall Ranking: 7.6/10

Pink Mamma

Food: This is the place to eat in Paris according to TikTok. Reservations are hard to come by, and if you do snag a reservation, your fingers are crossed to sit at the top floor with the glass roof and beautiful interiors. We came in November 2022 and while the food was very, very tasty, the service was lacking. We got the pappardelle with ragu (and truffles on top) and a pizza. Both tasted amazing and came out quickly.

Price: The meal cost around $70 for us 2 with pizza, pasta, 2 cokes, waters, and a cocktail.

Vibes: The interiors are gorgeous, and the stairwell was beautiful. If the service had been better, it would’ve been perfect!

Location: Located between the 9th and Montmartre, it is a bit out of the way from where tourists, typically go, but not in a bad location!

Rating: 7/10

Le Grand Epicerie

Food: We visited Le Grand Epicerie for our boat ride. The very luxe grocery store is not for the faint of heart (or wallet), but definitely an experience! We got:

  • 2 blocks of cheese

  • a small brie

  • 2 loaves of bread

  • strawberries

  • 2 pads of French butter

  • caviar

  • truffle potato chips

  • creme fraiche

  • charcuterie meats

  • 2 bottles of wine

Price: For all of that, it was around $200.

Vibes: Le Grand Epicerie is NICE. We were running a bit behind, which was unfortunate, because I would’ve loved to have spent more time exploring all of the options available.

Location: There are 2 locations and we went to the smaller one on the Left bank.

Moulin de la Galette

Food: We did the starter + main + dessert option for $42 and it was well worth it! I got the onion soup, fish, and creme brulee, along with a glass of wine. The food was okay! Nothing to shout about, but very warm and flavorful.

Price: Including the wine and tip, it was $55.

Vibes: Our waiter was lovely! So kind and funny, and very helpful. They have outdoor and indoor seating. If the weather is nicer, I’d recommend sitting outside.

Location: Hot location in Montmartre! We walked maybe 3 minutes to Sacre Coeur, Le Consulat, and other famous locations in Montmartre.

Rating: 6.8/10
