What is in My Travel “Go Bag”

I have anxiety so that means my brain is constantly planning for worst-case scenario. My anxiety also tends to be extremely focused on my health failing me at any given moment, which is stressful everyday, but especially while traveling.

I always recommend getting travel insurance (both for trip interruptions and medical coverage), but I keep 3 pouches full of things so I can easily throw it in my luggage and be as prepared as I can be for any minor issues that may arise.

I’ve separated them into 3 pouches:

  1. Medical

  2. Health

  3. Toiletries

Medical

In my medical bag, I keep the following:

  • Neosporin

  • Pepto chewables

  • Tums

  • Benadryl (liquid caps, regular pills, and the cream) (I’m always so scared of developing a later-in-life allergy)

  • Sudafed or Mucinex (check local laws if either of these are legal to bring!)

  • Visine

  • Inhaler

I also keep my daily medications and vitamins in a pouch so that is easy to travel with.

Health

In my health bag, these are things to help when feeling maybe a little sickly, but not enough for medication

  • Liquid IV

  • Emergen-c

  • tweezers/nail clippers

  • Q-tips

  • Hand sanitizer spray (I love Touchland’s lavender scent)

  • Wet Ones wipes - for hands

  • Clorox wipes - for surfaces

  • Screen wipes - to clean my phone case and screen

  • Band-aids

  • Blister patches

Toiletries

It’s so easy to overpack your toiletries, but I think I mostly have this down to a science now…

  • Floss

  • Mini Toothpaste

  • Travel toilet paper (obsessed with this)

  • Mighty Hero pimple patches

  • Mini sizes of my hair care (Sephora and Ulta have mini sizes of everything… If you’d rather not pack a bunch of mini pots and cases for your liquids, I recommend buying the mini sizes of your current products)
