24-hour Layover in Lisbon

We flew TAP Air Portugal on our European trip and it allowed us a free stopover in Lisbon. We had about 24-hours in Lisbon and I LOVED it. They know what they’re doing by offering that free stopover and encouraging people to explore Lisbon! I definitely want to go back.

Where We Stayed

We stayed at The Emerald House Lisbon, a Hilton Curio hotel. It was so pretty, a great price, and great location! For one night, it was $170. I’m a Gold Member at Hilton now, so they offered my guest and I a complimentary welcome cocktail, some local snacks and fruit, complimentary breakfast, and late check-out.

I will definitely be going back to this hotel next time I stay in Lisbon!

Where We Ate

We had dinner at Rocco, which was such an amazing experience! The food was so good, the service was impeccable, and the interior was so luxe.

It was white truffle season, so we were given some complimentary white truffle ham to start. They also bring an entire tray of different breads to eat. I picked the sourdough obviously :) We also ordered a caesar salad to split, which was delicious. For our entree, Ro ordered the brown crab ravioli in a seafood bisque, and I ordered the white truffle pappardelle.

My pappardelle had white truffle, mushrooms, and an egg yolk and they mixed it in a pecorino wheel… It was incredible.

For lunch the next day, we ate at Time Out Lisbon, a MASSIVE food hall. I ordered a prosciutto pizza that was pretty good!

We also hit up 3 rooftop bars - Bairro, Rossio, and Chapito a Mesa. All are wonderful for different reasons.

What We Did

We drank and ate mostly. We also got a massage at The Vintage Spa and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had! It was also so inexpensive ($80 for an hour-long massage). They also had a pool you could enjoy before or after your massage, and a private room with snacks and tea after your massage.

We didn’t get to explore as much as I’d enjoy, but it was a great little taste of Lisbon :)
