Heineken Experience in Amsterdam
I love a good brewery tour… Guinness is my favorite, but Heineken was equally as impressive (especially if I wasn’t so biased towards Guinness). Amsterdam has a TON to offer. Canals, Anne Frank’s house, Van Gogh Museum, Red Light District, Rijksmuseum, stroopwafels, Museum of Sex. There is so much to do in Amsterdam. However, Heineken was one of the more fun attractions in this city.
When we got to the Heineken Experience, we ended up buying the tickets for the tour and a canal “booze” cruise after to a rooftop bar. I don’t see that offered on their website now, but I believe it was around 35 euros, with the regular tour being 18 euros. You can buy it through A*Dam’s website through here. Book the “Rock the City” tour.
We walked through the tour and one of the best parts was the horses! Imagine the Dutch version of the Budweiser Clydesdales. They were so beautiful! At the end of the tour, you get to visit the bar and you get 2 free Heinekens with the cost of your admission (Guinness only offers 1, unfortunately). They had some pretty neat art installations, too.
After the tour, we got onto our booze cruise and set off! You had to pay for your Heinekens on this cruise, but they were only 2 euro I believe. We went through the canals for about 30 minutes and then they took us to this amazing bar at the mouth of the main canal called the A*Dam Lookout. The elevator up was so trippy, I can’t even describe it.
Once you get to the roof, it is a 360 degree look out over Amsterdam and the canals. I highly, highly, highly recommend this bar. They have a ton to do at this facility though outside of a bar. They have a VR section, a giant swing, a restaurant, and also the best views in Amsterdam in my opinion.
