Bottega Veneta Review
I LOVE Bottega Veneta. Not having a specific logo, their intrecciato leather weaving is synonymous with the brand now and is known worldwide as a sleek, thoughtful design. They’ve really hit the ground as a more “affordable” brand but still very good quality and understated as opposed to other brands within the same price point.
Starting in 1966, their main draw is the chic look of their designs. In 2018, Daniel Lee, prodigee under Celine’s famed Phoebe Philo, became the creative designer of the brand and has catapulted Bottega Veneta to “it” status with celebrities and “normies” alike. Their most popular bags recently being the Jodie, Pouch, and more recently the Andiamo.
I own 2 bags by Bottega Veneta - the Pouch and the Loop Shoulder bag. Both resale (via eBay and Rebag) and at a bargain.
Pouch
The Pouch was the brainchild of formerly mentioned, Daniel Lee, in 2018. Offered in 3 sizes: mini, teen, and small. The materials offered either with intrecciato leather, calfskin originally, and now in raffia, terry, and denim. The Pouch is now a beloved bag of Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and other “it girls.”
I bought a small “plaster” (off-white) Pouch in the intrecciato leather variation which is my preference. The leather is surprisingly durable, while being incredibly soft to the touch, and maintains its color very well. I haven’t experienced any color transfer.
It has virtually no shape, looking almost like a dumpling, but it fits SO MUCH. I’ve fit a book, wallet, mini medicine carryall, perfumes, aquaphor, lipsticks, chapsticks, phone, gum, passport, tic-tacs, and plenty more in the bag. My only complaint is that is a bottomless pit. There is no way to organize it, as it is exactly as the name suggests - a pouch.
The closure is a magnetic clasp and it’s strong, easy to clasp, and comfortable in the hand. I’m not usually partial to clutches, but this one is very comfortable, and can be held in the crook of the arm, by hand, or under your arm.
I love this bag. I wish I had it in Teen size, and hope to add that to my collection someday. The Pouch has been discontinued as of 2023 - now only being found on the resale market and mostly holding it’s value; however, you can find quite a few deals if you look hard enough. They retailed for $4100 and I bought this bag on eBay for $1300.
I cannot wait for the reedition of this bag in a few years or decades :)

Loop Shoulder Bag
My first designer bag was a Loop Shoulder Bag from Bottega Veneta bought on Rebag. I’m not sure when this bag originally “dropped,” but it has the iconic intrecciato weaving, the perfect shoulder drop length, and is a perfect everyday bag.
Similar to the Pouch, it is a bottomless pit given how soft the leather is. Though it isn’t as much of a nightmare to find your things.
My mom was OBSESSED with this bag, so I have since gifted it to her, but we both have loved and used this bag!
