Best eats in Ft. Myers Beach

Fort Myers Beach is a teeny tiny island. 6 miles long, maybe 300 yards wide at its widest point, it is truly easy island living. It’s been getting more popular recently, but still isn’t competing with Miami, Tampa, Clearwater, etc for heavy tourists at its beaches. FMB is also lucky to have some pretty great restaurants… Here are the ones we eat at every year.

Heavenly Biscuit

truly heavenly… If you think Cinnabon is the greatest cinnamon roll, honey you are in for a treat. They are made with love every morning and they pour the icing from a PITCHER. It’s in a tiny beach shack off of Mango St. so you gotta go early or you’'ll be waiting a while… I recommend getting it to go and eating it on the beach before it gets too hot outside. You can split one cinnamon roll with 2 people to be honest. The best breakfast on the island.

Dog House

best burg!!! best fam!!! They have the best burgers on the island. It’s a tiny shack with 4 seats at the window and 2 tables outside. It’s run by a small family and you can taste the love in the burgers. Their bbq fries are also great so don’t skip those.

Publix Deli

No contest. The best sandwich out there. I went there every.single.day. while we were there. We are dangerously close… like right across the street close… It got to the point where multiple deli workers knew my face in the 2 weeks I was there lol. My order (I know you are wondering) is half white bread with spicy brown mustard, turkey, gruyere and white cheddar toasted and pressed. Get every sandwich there toasted and pressed… you’ll thank me.

Salty Crab

Great location! You have to pay for parking across the street, but the crab legs are worth it. We had great waitresses both times we went, but the manager on my birthday was not very nice. It was storming and we were getting rained on… for real. My dad’s back was soaked, my drink was getting rain in it and my face and dress were getting soaked, too. I asked the manager if we could lower the screens and she said, “No.” So I asked if we could sit somewhere else and she said, “You can sit in the hallway.” LOL it was so crazy. Thankfully, a couple behind us offered to let us sit with them. Outside of the manager, the food was great, the strawberry mojito is very refreshing and dangerous, and we went twice. So that speaks for itself.

yo! Taco

Decent tacos! If you’re looking for a late night, “elevated” Taco Bell experience, this is it. FMB doesn’t have a great Mexican food selection unfortunately, so this is about the same taste you’ll get anywhere else but for a $2 taco. They have a board with 2 names on there - if it’s your name, you get a free taco! Open late, good selection, easy :)

Bella Mozzarella

This picture is supposed to be of our toasted ravioli, baked ziti, my slice of pepperoni, and my dad’s slice of sausage… but phone never eats first in time lol. This is a staple in Times Square at FMB. not the best pizza you’ll ever have in your life, but great location, pretty darn good pizza, and connected to an ice cream shop :) What more can you ask for?

The Whale

We came here because we were given a “free margarita” card from Doc Ford’s, its sister restaurant. We didn’t eat at Doc Fords, so I can’t speak to the food… but the DRINKS!!! The Key Lime Colada… holy moly. It’s what my dreams are made of. If I could have a key lime colada and a publix sammy, I could die happy. The food at The Whale is good. We got a bacon cheese bread appetizer (very good), and my sister and I split the alfredo, which was decent!

Honorable mention: Liki Tiki

Great vibes, great drinks, not great food. Go for a fun atmosphere, get the strawberry daiquiri, meet a cute boy at the bar as this place gets HYPE at night. But don’t get any food here.
